Some interesting sequel news came out of the Paramount Pictures presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas as pointed out by our very own Caleb.
They announced that while Overlord won’t be connected to Cloverfied, J.J. Abrams assured the audience they are working on a true sequel to the 2008 film from director Matt Reeves.
Previous “sequels” had only added Cloverfield links as a marketing gimmick.
It’ll be interesting if they’ll actually spend the money needed to get a proper sequel made.
They also made it clear that John Krasinski’s hit A Quiet Place will also be getting a sequel.
Paramount is seemingly investing in their own genre flicks rather than superhero films might be a good way to separate themselves from the pack.
It’s unknown when we’ll see these sequels go into production.
