‘Peaky Blinders’ Actress Annabelle Wallis Might Join Tom Cruise In ‘The Mummy’
Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Peaky Binders actress Annabelle Wallis (Brothers Grimsby, Annabelle, Knights of The Roundtable) has entered talks to join the upcoming Mummy reboot film. The movie is set to star Tom Cruise as a former spec ops solider and Sofia Boutella as the ancient Mummy. This is the first of several “classic monster” films set within the same universe and will eventually come together in a massive crossover.
This will be directed by screenwriter turned director Alex Kurtzman with a script from Doctor Strange writer Jon Spaihts.
In the original draft of the screenplay Cruise’s character was indeed a former spec ops officer named Tyler Colt and meets up with archaeologist Jenny Halsey. Which is the character we assume Wallis is up for…
Recently Johnny Depp was announced to be starring in The Invisible Man reboot with Angelina Jolie rumored to star in the Bride of Frankenstein reboot, along with Scarlett Johansson being eyed for a role in The Black Lagoon remake.
The Mummy‘s release date has been slatted for June 9th, 2017.
