Peter Parker Secretly Appeared In ‘Iron Man 2’

Jun 28, 2017

A fan theory has been online since the early days of Sony lending out Spider-Man to be used in the ever growing Marvel Cinematic Universe. Well, one fan theory now has come true! Recently, it has been confirmed by Spider-Man himself Tom Holland and Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts that Peter Parker actually appeared in Iron Man 2 during the climatic battle with Ivan Vanko.

While speaking with the Huffington Post Tom Holland had this to say:

“I can confirm that as of today. I literally had a conversation with Kevin Feige only 20 minutes ago. Maybe I’ve just done a big, old spoiler, but it’s out there now. It’s cool. I like the idea that Peter Parker has been in the universe since the beginning.”

Jon Watts later went onto reconfirm the same notion. That after getting their blessing from Marvel head Kevin Feige to retcon the original scene in the movie to actually be Peter Parker:

“I was watching all these other movies and being like, ‘What if that little kid at the Stark Expo was Peter Parker? In the Iron Man mask.’ Like, he’d be about the right age for that. And he loves Tony Stark. ‘Oh, what about after the Avengers battle, who would clean that stuff up?’ Because they mention Damage Control at one point in the movie. So it’s this thing where, because it’s not completely figured out, that you can just go back and basically write fan fiction for those movies, then the fan fiction becomes reality.”

Of course originally this wasn’t the intent on the scene. But how everything seems to line-up with the kids age as well as his love for Iron Man; it kinda makes sense!
