Possible ‘X-Men: The New Mutants’ Casting Call For Villain Demon Bear?

May 23, 2017

It looks like we have our first casting call from Josh Boone’s New Mutants. We recently confirmed is the main location of production will be in Boston.

Central Casting (via ProjectCasting) is looking to fill a principle role for an unnamed upcoming Fox film.

Omega Underground believes this is most certainly for New Mutants considering the dates, location, and role description. Leading us to believe this could be for the role of villain Demon Bear for in camera shots or another villainous mutant baddie.

Neither Project Casting or Central Casting are connecting this to New Mutants, but we are.

Central Casting is now looking for men who are 6’9″ to 7’4″ who are very thin and athletic. You must be able to chase kids down a hall. Must be okay with prosthetics and make up. Talents will work as a paid principal actor. Filming will be in Boston, Massachusetts from July 13th through July 21st.

This would further confirm our recent reports that main production is taking place in Boston, not Montreal.

It remains to be seen if we’ll be getting a motion capture actor or someone in some sort of practical rig for certain shots. Considering the height of the actor and mentioning of makeup it’s possible it could be the latter. It’s also possible it could be for another role.

Currently, the only two confirmed cast members are Anya Taylor-Joy and Maisie Williams.

New Mutants begins filming next month in Boston with its release date set for April 13th, 2018.
