Producer Adi Shankar Jumps To TV; Still Interested in Producing ‘The Punisher’ for Netflix?!

Producer Adi Shankar is becoming a household name in r-rated fan films. He was the producer behind the fan films Power/Rangers staring Katee Sackhoff as well as The Punisher: Dirty Laundry starring returning Frank Castle Thomas Jane. He always was one if the producers on the massively underrated Dredd remake starring Karl Urban. His other credits include Lone Survivor, The Grey, Machine Gun Preacher and A Walk Among The Tombstones.

Now the producer is looking to jump to television in HBO’s upcoming superhero drama Gods and Secrets. The show is expected to be in the vain of Zack Snyder’s Watchmen film. The Wrap goes onto onto reveal that the cast of the show includes Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone, Denise Richards, Jane Seymour and wrestling legend “Diamond” Dallas Page.

Gods And Secrets is an indie production that dives deep into the world of superheroes and how their actions affect those around them. It’s designed to put a fresh spin on the comic book tropes and push the boundaries of what’s possible within the genre.

He will be directing several episodes of the show alongside Stewart Yost with a script Shawn DeLoache, and Sharni Vinson.

Now we at Omega Underground tweeted out to Shankar about if he would ever be interested in showrunning Marvel’s and Netflix still unannounced Punisher series starring Jon Bernthal. Bernthal has already been announced as playing Frank Castle in the second season of Daredevil. But not just that Punisher is expected to be one of the first spin-off Netflix shows to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. When asked if he would even be interested the producer goes onto agree it “…would be dope”
