Production Designer Sonja Klaus Who Worked On ‘Prometheus’ Confirmed For ‘Terminator’ Reboot?

Jul 28, 2017

Just the other day, it was reaffirmed by Terminator reboot producer James Cameron that the reboot was indeed a reboot and their plan is still to make a trilogy. This news was paired with a hint from director Tim Miller (Deadpool) that production is looking to begin filming in 2018, which is likely why the project titled Terminator (not Terminator 6) and was on our production radar months back.

Now, we have some sort of idea who else is working on the film as it’s been seemingly confirmed that Sonja Klaus will be the production designer on the film. Her credits include Robin Hood, Gladiator, X-Men: First Class, Kingdom of Heaven, Taboo, American Gangster, and the biggest standout Prometheus. We have been under the impression this reboot could primarily be set in the future and focus on an entirely new set of characters, think Terminator: Salvation but done better. So, having Sonja onboard after her excellent work on Ridley Scott features is sign they’re not messing around this time.

Why do we think Sonja has been confirmed?

It’s listed on her IMDB page as one of her upcoming credits (nothing is listed publicly on the reboot’s page) and TerminatorFans claims to have interviewed her with a confirmation of Sonja’s involvement. Despite what is said by TerminatorFans, if Paramount/Skydance is hiring design crew already then the film is actually in pre-production because that is usually when these types of jobs are filled.

It’s possible Terminator could indeed end up shooting next year as crew hirings suggest a ramp up towards production. Klaus mostly works on films shot in the UK which could give us a hint where production could be taking place as well.
