The co-director of ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ Bob Persichetti will direct ‘Puss in Boots 2.’ Also, ‘Spider-Verse’ won Best Animated Film at the Academy Awards just days ago.
Persichetti is no stranger to DreamWorks Animation, as he was Head of Story and the voice of the Ohhh Cat in the original ‘Puss in Boots.’
The first ‘Puss in Boots’ got an Oscar nomination in 2012 for Best Animated Feature. Will this happen for the second film? Probably, because we have Persichetti is onboard to tackle the long-gestating sequel.
Further, animation on the film will take place on the DreamWorks Animation lot in Glendale, California.
However, Universal has not set a release date yet.
