Our man in Las Vegas Caleb, has been live tweeting from CinemaCon this week and we’ve now learned some exciting news information concerning Paramount and Bad Robot’s Overlord.

Rumors has sparked that would see the Overlord part of the Cloverfield universe but J.J. Abrams has said during the presentation that isn’t the case.

The WWII action horror film focuses on unit of American paratroopers that are dropped behind enemy lines leading them to a small village in Nazi occupied France.

Seemingly echoing WWII-set video games like Return To Castle Wolfenstein and Call of Duty Zombies installments. Although, due to not holding those rights it’s expected to be legally distinctive from those copyrighted IPs.

Overlord will also be R-rated as graphically violent footage confirmed, making it the first mature feature film from Bad Robot.

It stars Wyatt Russell (Black Mirror), Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo), Pilou Asbaek (Game of Thrones), and Ian De Caestecker (Agents of SHIELD).

Paramount has given Overlord a Halloween friendly release date of October 26th, 2018.
