Rachel McAdams Confirms Role Opposite Benedict Cumberbatch In Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange’

While speaking to the Wrap in Toronto at TIFF, actress Rachel McAdams (True Detective, Southpaw) has confirmed her role in Marvel’s upcoming Doctor Strange. She will join Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, in the film directed by Scott Derrickson.

Rachel’s character hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s expected to be fellow sorceress and love-interest Clea.

Variety previously reported that Mads Mikkelsen, who almost played the villain in Thor: The Dark World, is also being looked at for a villainous role. The character could possibly be Clea’s evil hot-headed father Dormammu.
