‘Ready Player One’s Letitia Wright Joins ‘Black Panther’ Cast

Oct 20, 2016

Variety has learned of another addition to the wonderful growing cast of Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther movie for Marvel Studios.

As young British actress Letitia Wright will be playing Serita, a character apart of the Wakanda community.

Wright will play the mystery role of Serita, who’s part of the Wakanda community.

The rising star got her start on TV in the British series “Doctor Who,” “Cucumber,” and “Chasing Shadows.” She recently landed a key role in Steven Spielberg’s upcoming tentpole “Ready Player One,” beating out dozens of young actresses to costar opposite Tye Sheridan and Olivia Cooke.

I’m a little curious if she’ll be in the royal family or not.

The Doctor Who alumni will have a role in Steven Spielberg’s upcoming action film Ready Player One.

However, this confirms that the production is looking to have many leading and secondary roles featuring female characters, and more importantly women of color. A casting issue that has been raised not just for blockbusters, but all Hollywood projects.

The rest of the cast includes Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Forest Whitaker, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, and Florence Kasumba.

Black Panther is set for release on February 16th, 2018.
