Rebecca Ferguson Could Join Michael Fassbender In ‘Alien: Paradise Lost’ and ‘The Snowman’

Oct 15, 2015

Deadline says that Rebecca Ferguson might be heading into space after all, but in a project we weren’t expecting. They report the Rogue Nation actress is being eyed for a role in Ridley Scott’s Prometheus sequel Alien: Paradise Lost, which include a new female role. They mention the latest draft has been handed in, and this could mean casting will start very soon.

Scott is coming off a critical high after the reception and success of the Martian, so there is expectations the film will be far superior to the last installment.

I had heard from my own sources months back, that we could more human roles filled in the film. This via earlier drafts of the script before Michael Green came in for his more recent rewrites. I’ll be curious if the multiple David bots (mentioned by The Wrap) and Ferguson’s role are connected in some way.

Could it be possible she’s playing a Weyland employee or a robot herself?

They also mention a second project alongside Michael Fassbender, which is Tomas Alfredson’s The Snowman. A crime pic similar to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, which could be a great match considering the people involved. Swedish director Alfredson is best known for his stunning films Let The Right One In and Tinker Tailor Solider Spy.

The film – and bestselling book series- revolves around idiosyncratic detective Harry Hole in the Oslo police department.  This particular story has Hole investigating the murder of a woman whose scarf is found wrapped around a snowman.

This comes after rumors suggest she is on the top of Marvel’s actress wish-list for Captain Marvel, but that film won’t be shooting until at least 2017. It’s possible the role could be cast before then, depending on when the script is delivered and when they announce a director.

Would you like to see Rebecca join the Alien universe, and kick some ass in Paradise Lost?
