Set in Boston in 1978, a meeting in a deserted warehouse between two gangs turns into a shootout and a game of survival.
Free Fire is directed and co-written by Ben Wheatley (The Kill-List, High-Rise) starring Brie Larson, Cillian Murphy, Armie Hammer, Sharlto Copley, Michael Smiley, Enzo Cilenti, Babou Ceesay, Jack Reynor and Noah Taylor.
Martin Scorsese is also a producer, so that might speak to the quality of the gangster flick.
The film recently made it’s debut at the Toronto International Film Festival and it’s getting some interesting buzz with reviewers comparing it to violent cartoons like Tom and Jerry, Looney Toons along with Itchy and Scratchy.
It’s expected to be released sometime in 2017.
