Ridley Scott’s Gangster Flick ‘The Cartel’ Could Begin Shooting In March

Dec 14, 2017

Ridley Scott recently did the impossible reshooting/replacing an actor’s entire performance in All The Money In The World, when Christopher Plummer was brought-in to take the place of embroiled actor Kevin Spacey.

Despite all that, he’s itching to get back to directing his next film. In November, while speaking to EntertainmentWeekly Ridley said he was going to begin filming The Cartel in February.

However, new production information we have sets the start date sometime in March instead. It makes sense to push it a little as it doesn’t seem that casting hasn’t been finalized.

At one point, Leonardo DiCaprio was being eyed for the role of Art Keller.

The novel written by Don Winslow follows the story of the engrossing friendship-turned-rivalry between DEA agent Art Keller and Mexican drug kingpin Adan Berrera and the crushingly cyclical nature of the war on drugs.

Fox has yet to set an official release date for the crime flick.
