Robin Wright has been gaining a lot of heat lately due to House of Cards which has led to some interesting blockbuster work recently. She’s playing an amazon warrior in Wonder Woman and now might be playing a robot in another big project.
Variety reports that Robin is in final negotiations to join the cast of Blade Runner 2 taking a key role in the sequel, which is being directed by Sicario‘s Dennis Villeneuve with Roger Deakins handling the cinematography.
Her role is currently unknown as is the plot of the film.
Ryan Gosling is the new lead of the film with Harrison Ford confirmed to reprising his role from the original. Although, it’s been said that Ford won’t even show up until the third act, so Gosling will be leading the film.
Ridley Scott is still producing the film with a script from Hampton Fancher (wrote the original film) and Alien: Covenant writer Michael Green.
Green also recently did some rewrite work on Fox’s Wolverine 3, potentially titled Old Man Logan.
Production will begin this July with a release date set for January 12th, 2018.
