We’ve been waiting patiently to find-out who will be playing Rick Flagg in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. After Tom Hardy exited after the role was scaled down from it’s original size the studio had been having issues finding actors to replace him.
Latino Review says the newest name in the running is Swedish actor Joel Kinnaman who is the frontrunner for the part. Kinnaman is best known for his roles in The Killing, Robocop, Easy Money, Child 44 and had a cameo in David Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The site is known for being extremely reliable but we’ve seen many actors turn this role down.
The Wrap, Variety and Hollywood Reporter are confirming the story.
The rest of the cast includes Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jared Leto as Joker, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang.
Actors are also said to be in the mix for Deathstroke as well with Jason Clarke and Joe Manganiello being the last names linked for the role. Although, it hasn’t been confirmed that Wilson will be in the film.
Squad is set for release on August 5th, 2016.
