RUMOR: ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Production Heading To Scottish Highlands In February?

Jan 9, 2017

Avengers: Infinity War begins production this month in Atlanta but it sounds like they’ll be heading overseas to shoot some scenes in February.

The Scottish Daily Record reports that Marvel Studios wants to shoot some key scenes in Glasgow, Edinburgh, and The Highlands. They claim production is set to begin in late February on the 28th but they aren’t exactly sure how long they’ll be spending in Scotland and are omitting the Atlanta shooting dates (vague statement of shooting for six months). Not having concrete shooting details outside of locations seems a little fishy if they were able to get this far seems strange to us.

Not having concrete shooting details/dates outside of a handful of vague locations seems a little strange to us as they give the impression they have an “official source”. Another glowing issue is that they have quotes in their article but aren’t attributing them to anyone which is a common ploy by UK tabloids to help support a flimsy story.

Another big claim they make is that Incredible Hulk‘s Liv Tyler might be returning in the Betty Ross role. William Hurt who played Betty’s father General “Thunderbolt” Ross reprised his role in Captain America: Civil War and almost went full Red Hulk too. There is a chance she could return but we’re not 100% sure this mention is legit.

This location information is only a rumor at this point but Avengers: Age of Ultron shot scenes in England, South Korea, South Africa, Bangladesh, Germany, and Italy.

Recent big Hollywood productions that have shot in Scotland include Skyfall, Fast and Furious 6, and World War Z.

Our own Scottish writer Craig gave us the heads up on the news yesterday.
