RUMOR: ‘Big Bad Wolves’ and ‘Evil Dead’ Directors Frontrunners For ‘Justice League Dark’

Nov 19, 2015

We’ve been learning recently about potential casting for Justice League Dark, which includes Ron Perlman as Swamp Thing, Monica Bellucci as Madame Xanadu, Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor as John Constantine or Jason Blood. Ben Mendelsohn is rumored to be courted a villain role in the film as well.

Jo Blo is reporting that directing duo Aaron Keshales and Navot Papushado that made Big Bad Wolves, along with Evil Dead’s Fede Alvarez are said to be frontrunners to direct Justice League Dark for Warner Bros.

Quentin Tarantino called Big Bad Wolves one of his favorite movies of the year when it was released, and it’s easily one of the best foreign films I’ve seen since the Swedish version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I’m going to have to root for the Big Bad Wolves duo, if only because their film was way more thrilling and terrifying than that well intentioned Evil Dead remake. They’ve been aiming for high level directing talent for their DC directors, so hiring Keshales/Papushado makes a lot more sense to me, than Alvarez.
