RUMOR: Director Peter Jackson Considering Returning To Middle-Earth or Enter The DC Universe

May 11, 2018

Yesterday, one of the oldest Lord of the Rings fan blogs TheOneRing.net posted a tweet regarding Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogy director Peter Jackson. According to their sources Peter Jackson’s production crew Weta Workshop is considering to board Amazon’s upcoming Lord of the Rings TV Series. The series that was announced last year would take place between the two trilogies made famous by the director. So seeing the director return to the world of Middle-Earth is great for fans who are worried it won’t feel the same as the original films.

Now the tweet also mentions that Peter Jackson is considering to all join the DC Extended Universe. This would correlate with recent reports that Warner Brothers is looking for other big name directors beside Steven Spielberg (Who is developing Blackhawk for DC) to join their universe. Considering that Jackson has a long-standing relationship with Warner Brothers and their subsidiary company New Line this isn’t as crazy as it sounds.

Now what project could the director board? Many fans are hoping he goes to space with Green Lantern Corps. However, it would make more sense for the director to get back to his horror roots from the 90’s and finally get Justice League: Dark up off the ground. He could even bring back his Hobbit collaborator Guillermo del Toro to once again work on the screenplay.
