RUMOR: Eva Mendes Returning For NYC-Set ‘Fast and Furious 8’?

Scoop-Master El Mayimbe of Latino Review has a new rumor concerning the Fast and Furious franchise as he’s hearing that Eva Mendes could be returning for Fast and Furious 8 which could be set in New York City. Mendes was last scene in a cameo at the end of Fast Five and hasn’t taken a lead role since playing US Customs Agent Monica Fuentes in 2 Fast 2 Furious.

I really enjoyed Eva in films like Once Upon A Time In Mexico and We Own The Night, here’s to the hope she takes over scenes from Michelle Rodriguez.

The New York setting is interesting because it’s a new environment for the franchise, I’m curious if they could be tackling the mob Russian or otherwise.

Justin Lin is expected to return for the next two installments but is currently making Star Trek 3 for Paramount first.
