RUMOR: Fox Resurrecting Kitty Pryde’ Movie With ‘Deadpool’s Tim Miller

Jan 9, 2018

Years ago, Juno’s Jason Reitman and Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody were tasked to develop a Kitty Pryde movie for actress Ellen Page, but ultimately it never came together.

It looks like the studio is returning to Kitty and finally attempting their first female-led X-Men movie.

Collider has word that X-Men producers are keen to resurrect that project (likely with a new actress) with Deadpool’s Tim Miller developing it and could direct it. Fox hasn’t officially commented, so it’s just a rumor at this point.

After he brought Negasonic Teenage Warhead to the franchise it’s hard to dismiss him tackling Shadowcat as well.

Miller is set to begin shooting his Terminator soft-reboot in a couple of months in Budapest, so it likely won’t be happening anytime soon.

Kitty has had some interesting aspects to her origins which includes becoming a protege of sorts of Wolverine, having some ties to his adventures in Japan.

Some are suggesting that the film could be in danger of getting scrapped due to the Disney/Fox merger. However, nothing suggests that any of the X-Men projects are actually on the cutting block. Gambit begins filming in March and X-Force is full-steam-ahead once Drew Goddard completes Bad Times At The El Royale.

It’s unknown if Diablo Cody actually constructed a script or would be interested in returning.
