RUMOR: Hiddleston’s ‘Night Manager’ Director Susanne Bier On ‘Bond 25’ Short-List

Jun 1, 2016

Susanne Bier (The Night Manager, In A Better World) is apparently on a rumored short-list to direct Bond 25, according to a report from the Radio Times.

The Academy Award and Golden Globe winning Danish director recently worked together with Tom Hiddleston on the mini-series The Night Manager, based on the novel by spy novelist John le Carre (considered to be superior to Ian Fleming).

Hiddleston has been recently confirmed as having met with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli, and is very keen on the role. Paring him up with a director he’s worked before, and more importantly an award winning one, wouldn’t be that terrible and could mirror the relationship between Sam Mendes and Daniel Craig for Skyfall.

Bier would be the first female director to tackle a feature length Bond film, but not the first to direct the character. Sam Taylor-Johnson had directed Craig in James Bond Supports International Women’s Day advert.
