RUMOR: Hiroyuki Sanada To Reunite With Keanu Reeves As ‘John Wick 3’ Villain

Jan 18, 2018

A new casting rumor from ThatHashtagShow suggests that legendary Japanese action Hiroyuki Sanada (Last Samurai, Avengers 4, Westworld) will be reuniting with his 47 Ronin co-star Keanu Reeves, taking a large role in John Wick: Chapter 3.

Sanada will reportedly take on the role of the Japanese member of The High Table, possibly a Yakuza boss. The film’s main villain

We’ve heard from Reeves previously that he wanted to shoot or have scenes set in Tokyo, Japan. This hinted towards having the Yakuza (Japanese Mafia) involved. The first film had the Russian mob in New York as the antagonists and Chapter 2 had the Italian mob operating in Rome trying to muscle-in on territory in New York City.

Also, they suggest that both Common and Laurence Fishburne are expected to return. Reeves, of course, is back and Ian McShane had been linked for a return too.

John Wick: Chapter 3 is set for release on May 17th, 2019.
