We recently learned that Sly Stallone could be reuniting with his Tango & Cash co-star Kurt Russell in James Gunn’s Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.2. This might not be the only reunion going on for Stallone.
Previously, a site unknown to us was claiming someone spotted Sly on the set wearing a helmet that looked like “Judge Dredd”. Considering it’s coming from a source we’ve never heard before it was hard to them on their word alone.
Another new rumor concerning Stallone’s possible character is coming from Heroic Hollywood, who recently revealed that character actor Tommy Flanagan (Braveheart, Sons of Anarchy) would be playing Yondu’s right-hand-man in the sequel.
The following isn’t exactly a spoiler, considering we’d expect that Sly would be apart the marketing and his character would be revealed during the promotion, if not in the official press release.
They are claiming like Tommy, Sly is apparently in cahoots with Yondu’s space pirate group The Ravagers, possibly a ravager himself.
It should be noted that Stallone and Yondu’s Michael Rooker previously played pals in the 90’s action flick Cliffhanger.
Heroic Hollywood, is a better source for character and casting information, but remember Marvel hasn’t even confirmed Stallone is even in the film.
This wouldn’t be entirely surprising as Gunn has mentioned that the sequel would expand and focus more on The Ravagers the second time around, hiring big tough badasses like Stallone and Flanagan sounds like a good casting move to us.
