RUMOR: ‘Wonder Woman 2’ Being Released In June 2020?

Jul 20, 2017

The other day, Warner Bros. slated two untitled DC projects for release dates in 2020. While it’s unknown what those dates and a couple others on the studio’s schedule will end up being, we might have our first clue.

TheHollywoodReporter’s Pamela McClintock is suggesting that the June 5th, 2020 date is being held for Wonder Woman 2 and expects a possible announcement during Saturday’s San Diego Comic-Con panel.

This is far from a confirmation, but it’s hard to ignore intel coming from a trade reporter. Then again, we do know that director Patty Jenkins and producer Geoff Johns are seemingly already hatching ideas for the sequel’s script.

Rumors (via ScreenRant) have suggested the sequel will be set during the 1980s with the Soviet Union being sought as the film’s villains. Although, since a script doesn’t even exist we aren’t convinced this is 100% along with the bizarre addition that Chris Pine could be playing his own grandchild (*rolls eyes*).

Wonder Woman 2 currently has neither an official production start date or release date. We’ll have to keep an eye on the Comic-Con panel for possible further details.
