Ryan Reynolds Rumored To Have Closed Deal For ‘Deadpool 2’; Where’s Tim Miller’s Deal?
Ryan Reynolds has apparently closed a deal for an undisclosed amount to reprise his role in the Deadpool sequel according to Umberto at Heroic Hollywood.
Deadpool has raked-in over $754.5 million worldwide on a budget of $58 million, making it the most profitable R-rated and X-Men film to date. It’s not shocking the studio placed the sequel into development with screenwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.
Nathan Summers aka Cable is confirmed for Deadpool 2, with another rumor from Umberto suggesting that Domino could be apart of the lineup too.
We’ve already suggested Ryan’s Voices co-star Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace, Runner Runner, The Girl with All The Gifts, Byzantium, A Hundred Streets) be considered for the Domino role.
Umberto is also claiming that production could start as early as this fall with a potential 1st quarter release date in 2018. We assumed a similar release date for the sequel as well.
The real question remains will the final member of this creative team be secured by Fox with a deal for director Tim Miller?
Miller didn’t sign a multiple picture deal with the studio and it could work out for his benefit as he’s obviously getting big studio offers after the successful outcome of Deadpool.
Fans are expecting him to jump onboard for the sequel and even want him to tackle the X-Force film as well.
Ryan Reynolds being a producer as well, will likely be able to make the deal happen.
