RYGUY’S GAMING WITH NERDS: Full ‘Halo 5’ Review!

Nov 5, 2015

So here’s the deal nerds. Finished the Halo 5 Campaign and I’m pretty much a pro at online now, so believe me that although I love Halo 5 there are some things I’ve noticed.

The Low Down with Ryguy

343 industries openly made it their mission when developing this game, to make it the next big multiplayer experience, this is probably so they can enter the pro gaming scene with a stronger force but that’s just my theory. They released their game within the same week period as the much-anticipated Call of duty Black Ops III. And because of their rush to get this game out before Call of Duty I feel they fell short on A LOT of minor things.

The Campaign

the campaign was very fun and the story was semi interesting, the 4 player team mentality added a whole new element and I applaud their risk taking. However the campaign had some holes, for one if you are planning on doing the campaign the first thing you choose is the difficulty. And if you pick anything but normal you should know that there is absolutely NO REWARD for completion and 343 Industries has released no statement regarding their want to add a reward for legendary completion. But if it wasn’t the no rewards let down that absolutely infuriated the mass of nerds, it was the story line that went know where but in one giant circle, or the drop in frame rate on long-range enemies and cinematic s. Along with those disappointments the graphics themselves and game play really hasn’t changed much at all, I might as well have spent 80 dollars on a halo 4 DLC story mode. Those are just my opinions however, they are supported by a large community on the halo forums. However they all claim the game ruined their lives. On the bright side the campaign was long, fun and allowed me to practice with all manner of weapons and vehicles before hitting online and owning some noobs.

Online Multiplayer

Online is very fun, arena mode is a mode that suffers in comparison to its bigger brother warzone. It is extremely easy to see tha the developers put all of their love into this game type. It is large, fun and there is something for everyone to excel in. The idea of requisition packs is very fresh especially since you can use in-game points rather than actual money to purchase them. But like i said arena mode has very little going for it, there are only 5 maps that I’ve ever seen played and it gets old fast. There is also the lack of a certain FORGE mode, a border line trade mark of the game and they didn’t even include it, 343 has said they will be releasing a forge mode type game type but the details have been slim at best. to see me wreck some noobs online check out my latest video.

In my final thoughts I absolutely love the whole Halo universe and this game is still a great addition to that long line of love. However you either love or hate this game if you are a die-hard fan and there are many fans that have gone as far to say its the worst halo ever blah blah. I believe the best way this game could have been improved is if 343 Industries put half as much work into the other modes of the game (the campaign and arena mode). This game would have been a masterpiece but the lack of story, lack of graphic and game play improvements, and the absolute let down for completing the campaign and getting NOTHING. I still find the game fun but as far as the consistent hype and the aggressive add campaign, this game was a let down to myself and many fans.
