If you haven’t heard, DC Comics is heading for another rumored big relaunch this summer, and included in that is Batman, DC’s premiere title, will be going biweekly.
Due to this publication change, it looks like acclaimed writer on Batman, Scott Snyder, will be leaving the book, according to Bleeding Cool. He won’t be leaving the character behind completely though, as Snyder will instead move to Batman’s secondary book Detective Comics, which will remain a monthly title.
It’s a coming home of sorts for Snyder, as he was actually writing on Detective Comics before he got the gig on Batman. This may come as a slight shock to many DC readers, as Snyder’s Batman is often considered the comic publisher’s best title and much of that is due to the stellar work Snyder and artist Greg Capullo have put into the title. No word yet on what Capullo’s plans are, but we can assume Snyder is stepping away from Batman so he can focus on more character-driven, smaller stories in Detective Comics.
