Scream Queen Vera Farmiga Joins ‘Godzilla: King of The Monsters’

Feb 28, 2017

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Bates Motel and Conjuring actress Vera Farmiga (The Departed, Source Code) has joined the slowly growing cast of Michael Dougherty’s Godzilla: King of The Monsters.

Vera will play the wife to Kyle Chandler‘s character and the mother of Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown in the film. Chandler is said to be playing the lead character in the film who is a scientist. It’s possible these characters could crossover for Godzilla vs. King Kong.

Production will take place this June at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, Georgia and then will eventually move overseas to shoot at Wanda Group’s Qingdao Movie Metropolis in Qingdao, China.

A plot synopsis has yet to be revealed for the project but Legendary Pictures released teaser art for the sequel back at San Diego Comic-Con 2014 that revealed kaiju Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah were going to showing up.

Its release date has been scheduled for March 22nd, 2019.
