Today, The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that screenwriter Aaron Berg has signed on to completely rewrite the current G.I.Joe 3 screenplay. Berg is famously known for writing the screenplay for Section 6 which revolves around the origins of MI6 without MGM’s permission to use their James Bond characters. G.I.Joe 3 is excepted to see the return of Dwyane Johnson as Roadblock and somehow Channing Tatum as Duke. DJ Caurso is expected to helm the new film which was slated for a 2016 release but may be pushed back because of this rewrite.
