Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg Adapting Garth Ennis’ ‘The Boys’ For TV

Apr 6, 2016

Deadline reports that creative duo Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg will be adapting another mature comic book for television.

The pair will be developing a TV series based on the Garth Ennis comic The Boys for Cinemax with Supernatural‘s Eric Kripke writing the series. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg will direct.

Set in a time where most of the superheroes are corrupted by their celebrity status and often engage in reckless behavior, compromising the safety of the world. It centers on a CIA squad, known informally as “the boys,” whose job is to keep watch on the proliferation of superheroes and, if necessary, eliminate some of them.

A feature film had been talked about for years but never really came together, not unlike Preacher before Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg developed that into a series instead as well.

Simon Pegg famously wanted to play the character Wee Hughie in the film adaptation, it’ll be interesting if he wants to do the TV version.
