Shane Black Reveals ‘The Predator’ Is Indeed Set In Present Day

Shane Black is making the press rounds for his next film The Nice Guys and spoke to Collider about his upcoming film The Predator.

The writer-director reveals that the film will indeed be set in the present time, which leaves the door open for Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s Dutch to return. There had been curiosity if the film could be set in the distant past or future, but Black has cleared this up with this direct statement.

“This one will be set in present day….Yes, it’s set in present day.”

Black was mum when the subject kept going back to Arnold’s return.

Fox’s panel at CinemaCon is happening later today it’s possible that the studio could announce his involvement, as they’ll be revealing information about their future release schedule there.

Production is said to start-up this summer with the release date for March 2nd, 2018.
