It seems like Guillermo del Toro‘s Fantastic Voyage needs multiple hands on deck for its production design as we’ve learned that Paul D. Austerberry will work alongside Spectral’s Tom Meyer (revealed by Omega Underground) on the film.
Austerberry recently worked with del Toro on The Shape of Water. It’s not uncommon to see multiple production designers on a project, even more so when the workload is larger than normal. I have to imagine Meyer will be handling the technology angle of the film.
We’ve previously reported that cinematographer Dan Laustsen (The Shape of Water, John Wick 2, Crimson Peak) would be reuniting with Guillermo on the film as well.
Filming is expected to begin this fall at Pinewood Toronto Studios.
Fox has yet to set release or production dates for Fantastic Voyage.
