‘Skyfall’ and ‘Prisoners’ Cinematographer Roger Deakins To Shoot ‘Blade Runner 2’

May 20, 2015

Alcon Entertainment has sent out a press release announcing that legendary cinematographer Roger Deakins has signed-on to shoot Blade Runner 2 for director Denis Villeneuve. He’s a twelve-time Oscar nominated director of photography his credits include Skyfall, Unbroken, True Grit, Assassination of Jesse James, No Country For Old Men, The Big Lebowski, and O Brother, Where Art Thou?.

Basically, Deakins is responsible for some of the most beautiful films ever made, so having him on board to make the sequel to one of the most visually stunning films ever makes a lot of sense. Roger previously worked with Villeneuve on Prisoners and the upcoming crime thriller Sicario, so there’s already an established working relationship.

Screen shot 2015-05-20 at 4.49.57 PM
