Sly Stallone’s ‘Escape Plan 3’ Casting Call Seeking Chinese Actors

Aug 13, 2017

Escape Plan 3 will be shooting this fall in Mansfield, Ohio, and casting is fully underway.

Previously, we learned from our friends at ProjectCasting that the film directed by Stephen C. Miller (Escape Plan 2) is seeking Eastern European actors for roles that would potentially interact with stars Sly Stallone and Dave Bautista.

Now, a second casting call (via ProjectCasting) is seeking Chinese actors with martial arts experience.

This isn’t entirely shocking as the two sequels are getting financing from Chinese investments and the box office in China is spearheading the fast-tracking the two films. The original cost $54 million and would go on to earn $137 million globally, $40 million in China alone. We’ll see Stallone complete an Escape Plan trilogy by next year, thanks in part to the Chinese audience and box office.
