Spheron network said on Monday that users can now pay to access its service with the Solana token (SOL) through Phantom Wallet. It is a move which helps it tap into features, including fast and secured transactions attributed to Solana.

The Solana chain integration joins the likes of Avalanche, Polygon and Optimism with tokens such as the USDT, MATIC, DAI and WETH which could be held in either Metamask or Phantom wallets.

We’re excited to announce that the Spheron Network is now integrating Solana payments through the Phantom wallet

Co-founder Prashant Maurya said early January that Spheron is accelerating over 2,100 decentralised applications  – many of them built on different chains it is supporting. Solana’s addition increases the chance of more developers and applications adopting Spheron as a decentralised web hosting platform.

Experience transactions faster and more secure than ever before, Spheron Network said about its integration with Solana.

Also known as “Ethereum Killer”, Solana, which ranks 11th according to Coin Market Capital, was founded in 2017 by Anatoly Yakovenko, software engineer who thought other blockchains failed to consider the time factor even though they were working towards efficiency. On Solano, nodes run on standardised time, allowing for each block’s timestamps and time of confirmation to be done faster. Solana is said to be capable of performing 65,000 transactions per second.
