‘Sons of Anarchy’s’ Kim Coates Doesn’t Want You Messing With The Law In ‘Officer Downe’ Trailer

Oct 5, 2016

We’ve been blessed with plenty of comic book movies this year. Deadpool, Batman V Superman, Captain America: Civil War, X-Men: Apocoalypse and Suicide Squad have already hit the big screen. But there’s still two more left to be released before the year’s end.

One is Marvel’s Doctor Strange and the other is Officer Downe, which has been described by its producer Mark Neveldine as better than any Marvel and DC film ever made. Seriously these are the words that came out his mouth in the Movie Crypt Podcast.

“Officer Downe is better than any Marvel movie or DC movie ever made.”

I can’t take this claim from a guy who co-directed one of the worst comic book movies ever in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. His comments did make me laugh.

Officer Downe stars Sons of Anarchy’s Kim Coates as a police officer who dies in the line of duty, but is brought back to life repeatedly to resume his job with his take no prisoners attitude.

Check out the trailer below:

This could be balls to the wall fun, with plenty of gory violence, big guns and weird ass villains. Or it could be rotten. Time will tell. The trailer has certainly peaked my interest for its craziness and my love for Kim Coates, both of which mix together well.

Officer Down takes you into a hyper-real Los Angeles for the story of a savage LA policeman who is repeatedly resurrected and returned to active duty via dark science technology. When a rookie officer named Gable is recruited as back up, he discovers there’s much more to the titular super-cop than a mindless law enforcement drone warring against a twisted rouges gallery of over-the-top super-villains.

Officier Downe is directed by Slipknot’s M. Shawn Crahan and stars Kim Coates, Alison Lohman, Tyler Ross, Lauren Luna Velez, Meadow Williams and Sam Witwer. The film will be available on VOD November 18th.
