Tonight during Cinema Con in Las Vegas, Sony and Marvel announced the official title for the upcoming Spider-Man film, called “Spider-Man: Homecoming“.
The title has been long rumored after Sony registered the domain name earlier this month.
This time around, we’ll see Peter Parker still in High School, dealing with the issues of being a teenager as well as a superhero.
“Throughout the story Peter is trying to find his true identity and where he fits into the world.”
Previously, Kevin Feige, confirmed that other characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe are expected to make an appearances in the film.
Speaking with EW, Feige said, “He is in the universe now, and the fun of the universe is that characters go back and forth.”

Before announcing the title today at Cinema Con, Holland walked on stage, and addressed the crowd, “I’m Tom Holland and I’m your new Spider-Man.”
The premiere for Captain America: Civil War was also tonight, which means Holland flew directly from the premiere in Los Angeles to Las Vegas to make the announcement.
The logo itself is reminiscent of a mix between The Spectacular Spider-Man logo and the Spider-Man logo from the animated series in the 90s.
Sony Pictures chief Tom Rothman said the title is “both a high school reference, and a homecoming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe”
Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters July 28th, 2017. You won’t have to wait much longer for Spider-Man to make his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as he will make an appearance in next month’s Captain America: Civil War.
