Sony Pictures Announces Yet Another ‘Spider-Man’ Spin-Off Featuring ‘Black Cat & Silver Sable’

Mar 23, 2017

Last week Sony revived their long-in-development Venom movie. This was one of many spin-off Spider-Man films that they announced back in 2013 in the hopes of creating a massive Amazing Spider-Man Cinematic Universe. Another film would feature females characters from the Spider-Man universe like Black Cat and Silver Sable. Originally Felicity Jones (Rogue One) was cast to play Felicia Hardy in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in hopes of leading to a role in the future as Black Cat

Now The Hollywood Reporter has learned this too has been revived by Sony Pictures. It will be penned by Thor: Ragnarok screenwriter Christopher Yost based on a draft from Westworld’s Lisa Joy.  The site does go on to confirm that at this time these spin-offs (somehow) will not be connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe like Spider-Man: Homecoming is. With Marvel Head Kevin Feige having no involvement with these projects. Of course, that could simply be because he is over Marvel; not Sony like Amy Pascal is. However, they might loosely end up being connected. Much like how the Marvel Netflix shows are loosely connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Black Cat & Silver Sable have no set release date
