SPECULATION: British Actress Eleanor Tomlinson Playing Hope Summers In ‘Deadpool 2’?

Mar 4, 2017

Deadpool 2 is about to begin shooting this June (as pointed out by Omega Underground) and now we have our first promo footage for the film even before cameras start rolling.

There have been some nifty clues in the footage as we see a nod to Morena Baccarin’s Fox series Firefly along with Nathan Summers (Cable’s real name) written on the phone booth.

ComicBook interestingly enough spotted the name “Hope” in graffiti twice, which could be hinting towards Cable’s daughter Hope Summers playing a role in the film. Filmmakers confirmed which timeline will be the setting of Deadpool 2, but time-travel is said to be apart of the mix.

Omega Underground is about to make an even bigger leap here with another piece of graffiti we also spotted in the promo short. “Alley Cats” is seen in the alley sprawled on a trash can, we looked it up no Marvel character reference outside of Vanessa’s transformation into Copy Cat.

However, there is a British film titled Alleycats that has major X-Men connections as the 2016 film stars Eleanor Tomlinson (Alice In Wonderland, Poldark).

The young redhead actress co-starred with Beast’s Nicholas Hoult in Jack The Giant Slayer which was of course directed by Bryan Singer before he made his return to the X-Men franchise with Days of Future Past.

Oddly enough, it looks like the actress has a free schedule according to her IMDB page.

This is purely our own speculation based on a few scribbles of graffiti but it’s strange she sort of fits the age range and is a redhead just like Hope in the comics. Not to mention her connections to the X-Men franchise via Hoult and Singer.

Eleanor wouldn’t be the first import linked to the Deadpool films as Game of Thrones’ Ed Skrein played Ajax and there is word that Bond actor Pierce Brosnan could have a role in the sequel. Cable’s mother Jean Grey is currently being played by fellow Brit Sophie Turner.

Could she possibly be playing Hope in the film?
