‘Spider-Man’ Crosses $700M Globally; Passes ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ Films Domestically

Despite lagging behind previous releases box office Spider-Man: Homecoming was hit with a wave of positive reviews and the film has finally crossed the $700 million mark worldwide.

Currently the reboot is sitting at $702 million globally which is trailing previous installments. However, on the domestic front Homecoming has surpassed the two Amazing Spider-Man movies crossing $300 million ($304M).

Director Jon Watts and the cast are expected to return for the sequel.

Spider-Man 2 is said to be currently in pre-production and is aiming for a May-June production start. Sony and Marvel have already slatted the sequel to be released on July 5th, 2019.
