Stallone’s ‘Rambo 5’ Expected To Begin Filming On September 1st – Eyeing Shoot In Spain/Canary Islands
Rambo 5 aka Rambo: The Last Blood is finally coming together as previously reported by Deadline with production set to start in September.
Omega Underground has learned that filming is expected to begin on September 1st.
John Rambo ended with Rambo returning stateside to his family ranch in Arizona. The fifth film will have a neighboring rancher/friend see his daughter kidnapped by sex-traffickers who turn out to be members of violent drug cartel and the older Rambo agrees to find/rescue her.
His brother seemingly runs the family ranch now and it’s unknown if his niece is also kidnapped, as it could make it a more personal story including his family members into the mix.
We are currently hearing that Spain/Spanish Canary Islands are being eyed as filming locations for the movie. Tim Miller’s Terminator is currently filming in Spain as the area is doubling for the Arizona-Mexico border.
There has been some back-and-forth if Sly Stallone will end up directing Rambo 5 and without a director named we have to assume he will indeed return until another name surfaces.
Stallone also has Expendables 4 which is set to begin filming in April as it returns to Bulgaria.
A release date has yet to be announced for Rambo 5 but there is a good chance for a release next summer or fall.
