‘Star Wars: Episode 9’ Might Begin Shooting This April At Pinewood Studios

Dec 5, 2016

The usually reliable production/casting website Project Casting has learned that Star Wars: Episode 9 will be starting it’s production way earlier than expected. As they claim that shooting will begin this April at Pinewood Studios, Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire, England, UK.

Jurassic World‘s Colin Trevorrow will be on double duty as writer and director of the film. It remains to be seen which cast members will be asked to return or will survive the events of Rian Johnson’s untitled Episode 8.

Han Solo will also be in production soon, but will start earlier around January or February at Pinewood. It’s possible that once Solo has vacated Pinewood for location shoots that Episode 9 will likely move into the studio stages.

Star Wars: Episode 9 has the slatted release date of May 23rd, 2019.
