Stephen King’s ‘In The Tall Grass’ Feature Adaptation Shoots July-September In Toronto
A couple months back, it was announced that Netflix would be making a feature adaptation of the Stephen King and Joe Hill novel In The Tall Grass. They had hired director Vincenzo Natali best known for horror features Cube and Splice, along with a couple of episodes of HBO’s Westworld.
After hearing a young boy’s cry for help, a sister and brother venture into a vast field of grass in Kansas but soon discover that there may be no way out.
We have some production dates for the film.
Omega Underground has learned that shooting is expected to begin in Toronto on July 24th and wrap on September 12th. Also, the film has added production designer Oleg Savytski and art director Shelley Silverman.
Deadline had previously reported that Westworld’s James Marsden was in talks to join the feature but has since joined Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood which is currently filming in Los Angeles. However, his role might be small enough that he’ll still lead In The Tall Grass.
King properties are hot at the moment with IT: Chapter 2 currently filming in Toronto, a Pet Sematary remake currently filming in Montreal, and a sequel to The Shining titled Doctor Sleep on the way as well.
Netflix has yet to reveal a drop date for the horror flick.
