‘Terminator’ Second Unit Director Will Be ‘Daredevil’s Philip J Silvera

Nov 1, 2017

We already learned that Tim Miller’s Terminator sequel would be gearing up for a March production start in Hungary and Spain.

A new bit of information Omega Underground has uncovered sees supervising stunt coordinator Philip J Silvera taking on double duty as the second unit director on the new Terminator film as well.

This move wouldn’t be all that different from Chad Stahelski (John Wick 1-2) and David Leitch‘s (Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2) industry evolution from stuntmen to second unit to feature directors. The pair worked as second unit on projects like Expendables 2, Captain America: Civil War, The Wolverine, Jurassic World, Hunger Games, and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.

Silvera was previously a second unit director on Marvel’s Daredevil series for Netflix. He also worked with Miller as the stunt and fight coordinator on Deadpool and other projects at Blur Studio.

Terminator has a release date set for July 26th, 2019.
