Variety reveals that Tessa Thompson (Thor: Ragnarok, Creed), Zoe Kravitz (X-Men: First Class, Dope, Mad Max: Fury Road) and Naomi Scott (Power Rangers, The Martian) are currently testing for the female lead in Lucasfilm’s Han Solo film.
The role is most likely Sana Starros, Han’s future ex-wife who was recently introduced in the comics. She’s equally as good with blaster and piloting a ship as Han is.
Lucasfilm is also searching for a young actor to play Lando, as it looks like Donald Glover might have to pass due to commitments to his FX series Atlanta.
There are also second rounds of casting happening for Lando.
I’ve previously suggested that Zoe’s Dope co-star Shameik Moore could be an excellent casting choice to play a young Lando.
Alden Ehrenreich will play the titular Han Solo with directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord looking to begin shooting early 2017 in London.
