New York Comic Con is here and its bringing the goodies as Lionsgate has released the first trailer for the big screen Power Rangers reboot.
As a child from the 90’s who loved the original series I’m hyped as hell for this. And after seeing the trailer I’m even more excited for the release of Power Rangers next year.
Check it out:
To me the first trailer pays homage to the original series whilst keeping things fresh, I liked the Breakfast Club feel at the beginning along with what felt like Chronicle when the Rangers found out they had powers.
Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.
The film stars Dacre Montgomery as Jason the Red Ranger, RJ Cyler as Billy the Blue Ranger, Naomi Scott as Kimberly the Pink Ranger, Becky G as Trini the Yellow Ranger and Ludi Lin as Zack the Black Ranger. Elizabeth Banks and Bryan Cranston round off the cast, they play Rita Repulsa and Zordon.
Power Rangers will hit screens March 24, 2017
