‘The Flash Movie’: Billy Crudup In Talks To Play Barry’s Dad Henry Allen

Sep 9, 2016

Billy Crudrup is no stranger to the world of comic book movies, and could be set for a return as part of Rick Famuyiwa’s The Flash Movie.

After previously playing Jon Osterman aka Dr. Manhattan (the big blue guy) in Zack Snyder’s Watchmen, Variety reports Crudrup is in talks with Warner Bros to play Henry Allen, the father of Barry/The Flash (played by Ezra Miller).

Henry Allen is a crucial to The Flash’s back story. He was the husband of Nora Allen and father of Barry Allen. Henry, a doctor was wrongly convicted of his wife’s murder when Barry was a child. This drove Barry to become a crime scene investigator, in hope of finding the real killer.

Those of you who’ve read the comics will know that Nora Allen’s killer is Professor Zoom. However on the hugely popular CW show they changed it up for another evil speedster in the Reverse Flash.

With Crudrup’s pending casting it makes me wonder if we will see Zoom/Reverse Flash in The Flash Movie? It is rumoured the Scarlet Speedster will be going up against either The Rogues or the brother and sister duo Captain Cold and Golden Glider.

The Flash Movie is set to hit screens March 16, 2018
