‘The Flash’ & ‘Supergirl’ Possible Crossover Inches Forward

Jan 12, 2016

Crossover potential for CBS’s Supergirl and The CW’s The Flash keeps inching forward. It’s a small possibility by producer Greg Berlanti on both shows. The problem of course with this is the fact both shows are on two spereate networks. While the DC TV universe is constantly expanding (NBC’s Constantine appeared on The CW’s Arrow) it’s unknown how far the showrunners are willing to go.

However, there was a rumor last year that when Greg Berlanti signed onto develop Supergirl a “clause” was in the contract that would allow for potential crossovers with his other property’s that happened to be on other networks.

Now Greg Berlanti has spoken with Entertainment Weekly on the possibility:

“I would love it, a lot of things would have to go right and people would have to say ‘Yes’. It would have to figured out very soon. It would all have to be figured out in the next month or so. As it remains right now we’ve talked internally about how cool it would be, but we haven’t had official conversations. [However] CW President Mark Pedowitz is supportive”

Now a new report from The Wrap is coming from the new CBS President Glenn Geller who has hinted to a crossover. “I have to be really careful what I say here. Watch and wait and see what happens.” This was a complete 180 from former president Nina Tassler said back in July “Right now, we’re not doing it”

The real question is why is Supergirl only allowed to crossover with The Flash and not Arrow? The answer maybe that since Barry Allen has recently discovered the “multi-verse” he may discover the earth that has Kara Danvers. Which doesn’t have any other heroes beside Superman and the revelation of Martian Manhunter.

The Flash returns to The CW & Supergirl returns to CBS next month
