There Can Be Only One!; Dave Bautista Might Play Krugan In ‘HIGHLANDER’

Feb 12, 2015

A new scoop via Latino Review says that Guardians of The Galaxy and Spectre actor Dave Bautista is set to play the villain Krugan in the Highlander remake. The site previously reported that Bautista was going to play a henchman in the latest Bond picture as well.

Bautista’s profile as an actor has skyrocketed since joining the Marvel and Bond franchises.

It’s a reboot of the cult classic fantasy franchise where immortals battle across time by beheading each other then gaining the fallen’s power which increases their lifespan.

The remake will be directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan who is about to begin production on The Huntsman starring Chris Hemsworth which is the sequel to Snow White and The Huntman.

Credic has worked on visual effects for films such as One Hour Photo, The Ring, Pirates of The Caribbean: The Curse of The Black Pearl, Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest along with the first Huntsman film.

Ryan Reynolds has been attached for the lead of Connor MacLeod for ages but it’s possible the studio could look at stronger potential actors. I’d rather see someone like The Guest‘s Dan Stevens as Connor.

Tom Cruise had been linked for the Ramirez role, funny since Cruise would be close in age to Sean Connery when he filmed the original Highlander.

Another big question will be who will be replacing Queen to score the film, how about iconic metalheads Metallica?
