‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Will Indeed Mash Up The ‘Planet Hulk’ Storyline
Talk on a Planet Hulk storyline has been rumored as far back as 2013 when Elmayimbe worked for Latino-Review and dropped the rumor. Of course now 3 years later and we are actually getting a confirmation on that scoop that seemed to have been debunked.
According to our friends over at JoBlo the upcoming Thor sequel will feature a mash-up of storylines between both Ragnarok and Planet Hulk. While we know the film will be a “space buddy road trip” type movie between Hulk and Thor; The site reveals that initially Thor will be searching the vastness of space for “the ultimate weapon” to prevent Ragnarok from coming to Asgard. Of course this could be yet another Infinity Stone which Thor now has the most knowledge about from his vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
This will then lead Thor to a distant planet to participate in a “gladiatorial competition” which is being run by The Grandmaster. Who was recently cast as Jeff Goldblum (Independence Day: Resurgence). This is most likely where Thor finds Hulk after the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Lastly, the site goes onto talk about the vastly different appearance the characters will look in this final Thor film. First they do confirm that Hulk will indeed don his classic Planet Hulk armor as seen in the comics. Next, the reveal that Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie is going to wear war-paint along with her armor much like a Native American. And finally Thor himself is undergoing the biggest change given Chris Hemsworth will actually be bald for most of the film as Thor. Something we have yet to see from the God of Thunder to date…
